Bottega Gin Bacur 5cl

This dry gin, distilled by the legendary Italian distiller Bottega, is one of our under-the-radar finds of the year… Gin Bâcur is crafted using crystal-clear water from the Alps and botanicals of exclusively Italian origin, including Tuscan juniper, sage leaves from Veneto and Sicilian lemons. What we love about it is the uncompromising hit of juniper. In a flooded market, it feels like many modern gins lack the essence of what makes gin gin, and that's that peppery and piney wallop of juniper. No such problems here, Gin Bâcur has a proper old-school whack of intense juniper, followed by notes of lemon zest and herby sage. Mix this little copper-coloured miniature into a Martini or top it with premium tonic water and garnish with a twist of lemon and a few sage leaves. Then serve it alongside a plate of the classic pasta dish of Emilia-Romagna: amaretti and pumpkin ravioli with sage butter. Mighty oaks from little acorns grow.
